My Story

Welcome,
I am Tehrell Porter born in Charlotte, NC raised across the States because my family just couldn't stay in one place. From NC,IN,OH,CA,IL, and HI. I got into art when I was eight years old. I was living with my aunt and uncle with my two older sisters and my big cousin who is like a brother to me in Indianapolis, IN.
We would always get put on punishment for dirty rooms and bad grades. Anything lower then a C and we were grounded.
Our punishment was no playing out side, no TV unless it's Susie Orman, no video games, just board games and reading.
One day I got tired of the board games and I was failing my reading class. I began to draw flowers and send them to my mother who lived in Hawaii. Soon I forgot I was off punishment and forgot about video games and TV. I began picking up books mostly on animals, trees, and plants to practice drawing. I would go for hours and lose track of time to learn when I was finished, the definition of being proud of myself.
I later found a couple of books on drawing human faces and thought I would give it a try in my class room in Fifth grade. I was surprised by the talent of my classmates when I saw their work. I figured that my classmates must have been on punishment a lot. The detail that they put into their artwork was amazing.
Turns out they where just reading more.
So I did the same.
